Expert Services for Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Comprehensive, Specialized Services for Children & Adolescents

Psychiatric care for children and adolescents focuses on emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns that affect functioning at home, in school, and in relationships. Dr. Tayyab provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment planning tailored to each child’s developmental stage and clinical needs.

Care is structured, thoughtful, and developmentally informed. Treatment planning often involves collaboration with parents or caregivers and, when appropriate, coordination with therapists, schools, pediatricians, or other providers. The practice is designed to support careful, longitudinal care as children grow and circumstances change.

Thoughtful, Whole-Person Medication Care

  • Care is guided by careful evaluation, evidence-based clinical judgment, and attention to developmental context

  • Treatment decisions consider both symptom presentation and the child’s functioning across home, school, and social environments

  • When medication is recommended, benefits, risks, and alternatives are discussed clearly with families

Dr. Tayyab’s training in child and adolescent psychiatry allows care to be calibrated to developmental stage, family dynamics, and the environments in which children function day to day.

Your Path to Wellness with Dr. Tayyab

  • New families are asked to contact the office directly to begin the intake process. This allows appropriate scheduling, information gathering, and coordination before care begins.

Dr. Tayyab is open to an initial phone consultation to help families determine whether psychiatric evaluation is appropriate. Following this conversation, families may be offered the option to schedule an initial appointment, if appropriate.

Appointment scheduling is coordinated through the office to support continuity of care and appropriate follow-up.

  • The initial evaluation involves a detailed psychiatric and developmental assessment. Information is gathered from both parents or caregivers and the child or adolescent, with attention to symptoms, history, and contributing factors.

This typically leads to discussion of:

    • Diagnostic impressions and clinical formulation

    • Medication options, including benefits and potential side effects when appropriate

    • Therapy recommendations

    • School-related considerations or accommodations

    • Coordination with other providers or referrals if needed

  • Follow-up visits focus on monitoring functioning, symptom changes, and response to treatment over time. This includes careful attention to side effects, developmental changes, and evolving academic or social demands.

Treatment plans are adjusted thoughtfully as children grow and circumstances change.
